The Collège

​

The word "collège" in French has a different definition than in English. In French "collège" are all the classes from 6ème to 3 ème (from grade 6th to grade 9th) . See the equivalence education system here

The college has 4 levels:

• The 6ème which corresponds to the end of cycle 3 (cycle 3 being composed of CM1, CM2 and 6ème);

• The 5ème, 4ème and 3ème which correspond to cycle 4.

The college's mission is:

• to provide all pupils with a general education which, in the continuity of primary school, enables them to acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills constituting a common culture and evaluated by the brevet,

• to offer optional courses that allow students to express their tastes and talents,

• to prepare students for the training paths available at the end of the college.
