RECRUiTMENT

Enseignant documentaliste

Mission

The Lycée Français de Manille is hiring a Teacher Librarian (Teacher-Documentalist)!

Under the authority of the Head of School and in line with the school's strategic plan, you will play a key role in making the Documentation and Information Centre (CDI) a vibrant hub of knowledge and culture for students and the wider school community.

As the person responsible for the French section of the CDI (shared with the German school), you will transform this space into a dynamic learning environment that helps all students develop strong information and media literacy skills, while fostering close links with classroom teaching and school life.

You will manage and develop the documentary collection, ensuring it remains diverse, well-organized, and relevant. You will maintain a balanced complement of physical and digital resources to meet the needs of both students and teachers.

By diversifying resources, teaching methods, and learning tools, you will help students develop critical thinking skills and evaluate information sources effectively. You will take into account the evolution of students' information practices and contribute actively to Media and Information Literacy (MIL) education.

You will play a central role in designing and coordinating activities for Press and Media Week, as well as organizing initiatives for themed events (such as International Women's Day), projects linked to the school's educational priorities, and classroom topics developed throughout the academic year.

As a full member of the teaching team, you will assess the information and documentation needs of students and teachers, while providing students with the knowledge and skills required to use both physical and digital resources responsibly and critically.

You will contribute to disciplinary and interdisciplinary projects involving research and information literacy. You will support individual and group student projects, helping learners become increasingly autonomous.

Working closely with fellow teachers, you will develop and promote the school's reading culture, drawing on your knowledge of both children's and general literature. You will organize literary events and educational activities centered around books, integrating them into the cultural dimension of the school's educational project.

You will maintain professional, educational, informational, and cultural monitoring for the entire school community and help disseminate relevant information throughout the school.

You will also serve as the school's Culture Coordinator.

In addition, you will anticipate and coordinate educational resource purchases for both the Primary and Secondary sections.

You will also manage the booking of shared facilities with the German school, including the auditorium and the display boards located in the school lobby.

Your role therefore extends well beyond managing library resources or overseeing a multimedia space. You will actively contribute to school life and help promote the visibility and reputation of the Lycée Français de Manille.
